Babymoon

New Hope, PA

Babymoon Marsha Brown’s

Over Easter weekend we took our “babymoon”. For those of you not familiar with this, it is a word created to describe the last time you can get away as a couple before the little one arrives and takes over your life for at least the next 18 years. We decided to stay close to home, so we chose New Hope. We stayed at a little B&B called the Wedgewood Inn. We started off with massages on our arrival, in hopes this would be a good de-stressor. The doctor told me I need to reduce the amount of stress in my life (work, grad school, moving, baby in 10 weeks)… no problem! Sleeping has also become very difficult with having to sleep on my side. My legs and hips have been very sore, so I hoped the massage would help. While the massage was very relaxing, it did not seem to help my sleeping woes. Oh well, this all comes with the territory I suppose. After massages we checked in to our inn and then wandered around town. We purchased 2 adorable Grateful Dead onesies, which of course was all Rich’s idea :) We had a lovely dinner at the Mansion Inn that night. The next day we hit peddler’s village where we found a nice bakery. We then headed for a beautiful drive down River Road and then had a late lunch in Lambertville. That night we had a wonderful dinner at Marsha Brown’s. The restaurant is in an old converted church, making for a beautiful space. We discovered that the baby apparently loves king crab legs, as I felt some of the biggest kicks yet while eating them. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. The picture above was taken after our dinner there. As you will note, I had a minor spill, which in person was barely noticable but the camera kindly decided to accentuate it. Aside from the spot, I liked this picture, and it’s the best one of us from the weekend, so I decided to post it anyway. The spot points right to the baby anyway, which was the reason we were away in the first place. Here are some more pics from our last get-away as non-parents:

Beanie’s Room

We moved into our new home almost 2 weeks ago. As far as moves go, this one went well. Some wonderful friends and family helped unpack, and by the end of our first day here we got through more than half the boxes – a huge feat. We are now done with all our boxes and just need to do the decorating/wall hanging and of course, get started on Beanie’s room. As you can see from the picture above, we have a long way to go. But we are looking forward to the challenge. The crib and changing table/dresser are getting delivered tomorrow and our rocking chair was delivered this week, so we have just about everything we need for the baby’s room. Now we just have to get the room looking like a nursery. The next step is painting, we can’t wait to see the room be transformed.
