Progress

Rich finished painting the nursery this weekend and I took some time getting our patio in shape. Everything takes about 5 times longer than we think it will, I really hope we can get everything done before the baby arrives. We spent all day today shopping, and we have almost everything we need now. This week will be spent pulling the nursery together.

A Baby Shower

My mom threw us a wonderful co-ed baby shower this past Saturday at McGillin’s. Everything was wonderful and we thank everyone who came for making the event so much fun. And of course we thank everyone for their generosity. We received beautiful gifts and we feel a little more prepared now. Following are a bunch of pictures from the day. Enjoy!

The belly grows

Oh my god, look at my belly

I had a big growth spurt in the last 10 days (unfortunately the growth has not been limited to my belly). My belly did increase a full inch in less than 10 days, that is the quickest growth I have seen so far. The baby should weigh just under 4 pounds now and is growing rapidly every week. Although I am continually told my belly is small for where I am in my pregnancy, my doctor says I am measuring 1 centimeter above average. The extra weight is finally starting to take it’s toll on me, I get winded very easily, I am achey in the morning, it’s hard to bend over. No one told me being pregnant would make me feel like an old lady! Oh well, so long as the baby is healthy, it’s all worth it.

A sleeping place for Beanie

We now have all the furniture (minus the mattress) for Beanie’s room. Rich put the crib together in just over an hour, I was so proud. Of course we still need to tackle painting and decorating the room. Time seems to be moving very fast. I really hope Beanie does not decide to make an early entrance, we need all the time we can get to prepare (not to mention a comprehensive Dramaturgy exam in mid-May). It’s hard to believe that in just two months (or maybe less) we will have a baby.
